Theraputic Massage Therapy

Lindsey Schopp-Gosnell, Sumits Yoga Massage Therapist

I have always had an interest in helping people. I looked into many therapeutic career paths and was led to massage therapy. The whole body approach that massage takes is something that is very important to me. I believe in finding and treating the root of the pain, not just in treating the pain. I attended Professional Massage Training Center in Springfield, Missouri, where I studied in the Clinical Massage Program, training in Precision Neuromuscular Therapy. I also studied Reflexology and Swedish relaxation massage. I have fallen in love with the idea of easing pain and relaxing and de-stressing the body at the same time. Stress is the primary root of most illness. I truly believe if we can ease the stress, we can help ourselves to lead healthier, happier lives.

Sherry Thompson, Sumits Yoga Massage Therapist

I have been doing massage for about 10 years.  I was professionally trained at SOMA Massage Therapy School here in Springfield, Missouri.  I worked at SOMA for a couple of years then moved to Cox Meyer Center for the past six years.  I have found massage not only beneficial for joint flexibility, muscle soreness and range of motion, but massage can also be a great source of healing for the mind as well.  The calming effects of massage can reduce stress levels and rid us of toxins and pain we don't even know we have.  It's amazing what a little quiet and stillness can do for us. Personally, I love being outside, just being active and am an avid runner, cyclist, hiker and of course am totally into yoga.  I have found massage to be a great help to me in recovery time and has eased numerous injuries.  Massage is great for anyone of any age or fitness level.  My greatest hope and prayer is that I can share what I have learned about massage and its wonderful benefits here at Sumit.  What a great place to be!  I take appointments on Tuesday's and Thursday's and every other weekend.  To schedule call 417-224-2478.  Namaste.
